Dave Irving

Vice President - Construction

Dave Irving serves as Vice President of Construction at Catellus, where he brings more than 25 years of extensive experience managing and delivering complex vertical and horizontal development projects across a diverse range of asset classes. Throughout his career, he has overseen projects in commercial office, educational facilities, retail centers, residential communities, mixed-use developments, and highly specialized biotechnology campuses. His broad expertise encompasses every phase of development and construction, including planning, entitlement coordination, infrastructure delivery, environmental remediation, design oversight, budgeting, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and construction management.

Over his 13+ years with Catellus, Mr. Irving has played a key role in several high-profile redevelopment projects, including portions of the Navy’s Fleet Industrial Supply Center in Alameda, California, and the Napa Pipe Plant redevelopment in Napa, California. These highly complex brownfield redevelopment projects required extensive environmental and geotechnical remediation efforts, careful coordination with regulatory agencies and local stakeholders, and the phased design, construction, and delivery of critical infrastructure.

Prior to joining Catellus, Mr. Irving served as an owner’s representative for projects in the San Francisco Bay Area primarily focusing on the biotechnology industry.  In this role he led due diligence efforts for campus acquisitions, managed the development of new biotech campuses, building retrofits, capital improvement programs, and tenant improvements.  Mr. Irving has also held various positions working for a large General Contractor focusing on the construction of mid-rise buildings in San Francisco.

Mr. Irving holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University.
