Green Development

Catellus is North America's most progressive master developer and sets high standards for environmental design and construction throughout its projects. Catellus adopts the latest green building technologies for all construction and drives adherence to stringent national and local green building standards, such as LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), a green building rating system established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Catellus' mixed-use projects are situated in dense urban areas. Projects include energy-efficient infrastructure, pedestrian-oriented transportation routes and large expanses dedicated as open space and parks.

Catellus developments, like Mueller, a 711-acre mixed-use development in Austin, Texas, adopt standards for green development that must be met by retailers, residential and office/commercial builders. The result is sustainable communities — not just buildings. For more on Mueller, visit www.muelleraustin.com.

Catellus design guidelines for multi-use developments include alternative energy solutions, reclaimed water requirements, off-the-grid power systems, landscaping standards like one tree for every four parking spaces for retail, and energy requirements for residential.

Green Building Council
At least two Catellus developments (Mueller and Alameda Landing) are participating in the USGBC's first LEED® Neighborhood Development pilot program, a certification program that assesses all structures within a development for sustainability.

Chicago Climate Exchange
ProLogis is a member of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the world's first and North America's only voluntary, legally binding greenhouse gas emissions reduction, registry and trading program.
